Medical Background:
Born in Harrisburg, Illinois Dr. Geiger completed her Pre-Med studies at the University of North Dakota, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, and completed an internship in General Surgery at Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. The American Board of Medical Examiners granted her diplomate status in March 1985.

She completed her Anesthesiology Residency and also a Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She was Board Certified in April 1990 by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

She completed her Psychiatry Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin becoming Chief Resident in her last year. She was Board Certified in June 2000 by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
