Email Guidelines

Email address: GeigerMD@MarianneGeigerMD.com
- Email should be used for routine matters only. For urgent concerns or requests always phone or fax us.
- Email is reviewed every 48-72 hours. When your email is received a pre-programmed reply is sent back to verify that request has gotten through.
- We will then send you an answer to your question or a return message that a task has been completed (i.e. an appointment scheduled).
- Please put a category in the subject line of your email (e.g. "appointment," "medication question," "prescription refill," or etc.). This helps us to divide responsibilities for answering the email. Our secretary deals with prescription refills and appointment requests. Dr. Geiger answers any questions about medications, side effects, or other clinically related questions.
- A 5-day lead time is required on emailed prescription refills to ensure they are processed by the time you need them.
- Appointment cancellations must be e-mailed at least 3 calendar days before the appointment to avoid a missed appointment charge. If you need to cancel an appointment 1-2 days prior to its scheduled time, please call the office to assure that we are aware and that we won’t charge you.
- Please configure your email account to send me a pre-programmed reply when you are in receipt of my emails, so that I know they have gotten through.
- All email messages will be printed out and become part of your patient record. They will be treated as any other part of the medical record, and will be held in the strictest confidence unless released by your signature to be shared with other professionals who participate in your care.
- We are always interested in feedback or suggestions to make this service more efficient and responsive to your needs.
