Jenni O'Connell achieves successful outcomes by focusing on the person as well as the environment in which the person lives.
She provides a therapeutic experience that is emotionally focused with emphasis placed on understanding the body and mind's response to a person's surroundings. Through the use of case conceptualization, emotional focusing and behavioral changes Jenni guides her clients through their own recovery.

She is particularly adept with children and adolescent development issues and has considerable experience with behavioral, anger, depression and ADD/ADHD cases.
Jenni worked as an Assessment Counselor at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, Ill. working in the Emergency Department; she performed psychosocial evaluations on patients in psychiatric crisis. This experience gave her a special understanding of diagnosis and treatment of acute emotional illness. Prior to that Jenni was an intern at Swedes' Center for Mental Health Adult Partial Hospitalization Program.
Jenni has a B.A. degree from DePaul University in Chicago, and earned her M.S. degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University, with special training in couples' therapy. As a student at NIU she trained with nationally know couples expert Brent Atkinson, Ph.D.,L.M.F.T. on his system of Pragmatic Experiential Therapy for Couples. She brings considerable clinical relationship therapy experience to clients.
